• Introduction to medical records, documentation standards

• Overview of insurance and reimbursement concepts

• Basic keyboarding and computer skills (EHR basics) Outcomes: Comfortable with digital platforms, basic healthcare terms

Module 2 — Medical Terminology & Anatomy

• Medical terminology building blocks

• Word parts, medical prefixes/suffixes

• Introduction to body systems and anatomy relevant to coding Outcomes: Understand language of diagnosis and procedures

Module 3 — ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding

• Introduction to ICD-10-CM coding system

• Coding conventions and guidelines

• Practice coding simple diagnoses

• Sequencing and chapter organization Outcomes: Apply ICD-10-CM for common diagnoses

Module 4 — CPT & HCPCS Procedural Coding

• CPT fundamentals & sections (E/M, Surgery, Radiology, etc.)

• HCPCS Level II codes for equipment/supplies

• Modifiers and their use Outcomes: Ability to select and apply correct CPT/HCPCS codes.

Module 5 — Insurance Billing & Reimbursement

• Health Insurance types (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans)

• Claim forms (CMS-1500, UB-04)
